Arthur Conan Doyle (1859 - 1930) was an English writer best known for his detective stories about Sherlock Holmes. Serving as the successor to the stories of a world-famous detective, "Uncle Bernac" tells a murder mystery set at the end of Napoleon's era and involves a man returning to his homeland, France, to join the Emperor's ranks.
